Abstract
Female sex pheromone of click beetles represent multicomponent systems . From 1980 to 1993 pheromones of Agriotes, Sinaptus and Melanotus gen era were examined. The esters of geraniol, 8-hydroxygeraniol, 8-hydrox ynerol (E,E)-farnesol and all-trans geranylgeraniol were identified as the components of the sex pheromones. In the pheromone glands some sp ecies of click beetles contain up to 24 substances. This study confirm s the existence of pheromone dialects in Agriotes sputator L. and Agri otes obscurus L. populations.
