Abstract
A set of defining equations for turning points is shown to produce a t est function that can be computed iteratively to ''double'' accuracy. An inexact Newton method is then derived that gives a method for the e fficient calculation of turning points. Applications are given to disc retized boundary value problems using conjugate gradients.
