Abstract
Reaction of 5,12-dialkylthioquinanthrenediinium bis-salts 1 with prima ry alkylamines led to the synthesis of 1-alkyl-4-(alkylamino)quinolini um-3-thiolates (2). Their structures were proved by X-ray examination, H-1-NMR spectroscopy and by transformation to 1-alkyl-4-(alkylamino)- 3-(alkylthio)quinolinium salts (3).
