One specimen of Kessler's gudgeon, Gobio kessleri (Dybowski, 1862), an
endangered fish species, was caught in the River Becva near the town
of Prerov. This is the third record, 44 years after it was last found
in the Czech Republic. The specimen was taken for documentation as wel
l as detailed biochemical and karyological identification and deposite
d in the Moravian Museum, Brno.
