Abstract
The effective second harmonic generation coefficient of monomethyl ure a has been determined relatively to urea by phase matched interaction. Both Type I and Type II phase matching have been achieved by propagat ing the pump beam at small angles to natural faces of solution grown c rystals. The conversion efficiency for the doubling of Nd:YAG fundamen tal is similar in urea and methyl-urea.
