K. Larsson et T. Moller, LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHIC DETERMINATION OF OCHRATOXIN A IN BARLEY, WHEATBRAN, AND RYE BY THE AOAC IUPAC/NMKL METHOD - NMKL COLLABORATIVE STUDY/, Journal of AOAC International, 79(5), 1996, pp. 1102-1105
In an interlaboratory study of the AOAC/International Union of Pure an
d Applied Chemistry (IUPAC)/Nordic Committee on Food Analysis (NMKL) l
iquid chromatographic method for ochratoxin A (OTA), 3 spiked samples
each of wheat bran and rye and 3 naturally contaminated barley samples
with expected OTA contents between 2 and 9 mu g/kg were analyzed by 1
2 European laboratories, Mean recoveries ranged from 64 to 72%, Within
-laboratory standard deviations were 21, 17, and 12% for wheat bran, r
ye, and barley, respectively. Corresponding between-laboratory standar
d deviations were 23-28, 20-28, and 18-31%. Horwitz ratio values range
d from 0.50 to 0.77, The method was accepted as an official NMKL metho
d for determining OTA at greater than or equal to 2 mu g/kg in cereals
and cereal products.
