PLASMA-CELLS WITH IRON INCLUSIONS IN 2 NONALCOHOLIC CHINESE WOMEN

Plasma cells with iron granules are rare, especially among non-alcohol ic individuals. We report two teetotaller Chinese women with nasophary ngeal carcinoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, whose bone marrow studies revealed plasma cells with inclusions morphologically compatible with iron granules. The iron nature of the granules was confirmed by elemen tal analysis. The clinical significance and the exact mechanism of for mation of these iron inclusions in plasma cells remain unknown.
