The dielectric loss was measured in the frequency range from 0.2 to 18
GHz for binary mixtures of (A), either maleic anhydride or tetrachlor
o phthalic anhydride, with (B), either methyl methacrylate or styrene,
in dilute CCl4, and benzene solutions at temperatures between 20 and
40 degrees C. The relaxation times depend nonlinearly on the A-B mixtu
re ratio. This is attributed to molecular interactions between A and B
(which act as electron acceptor and donor molecules respectively). Al
so the static permittivity (molecular polarization) was measured, from
which the equilibrium constants could be determined.
