The antiferromagnetic phase transition in a GdAg single crystal has be
en investigated by neutron diffraction. GdAg undergoes a second-order
phase transition at T-N=132.8(1) K to an antiferromagnetic phase with
propagation vector k=(1/2, 1/2, 0). The magnetic moments are parallel
to the cubic nuclear cell edge for which the magnetic cell is not doub
led. The magnetic moment per Gd is determined to be 7.6 +/- 0.3 mu(B).
The sublattice magnetization follows approximately the Brillouin func
