R. Montealegre, A COMPARISON OF HUMAN PSYCHIC ACTIVITY FR OM A DEVELOPMENTAL PERSPECTIVE, Revista latinoamericana de psicología, 28(3), 1996, pp. 435-453
Starting from Darwin's evolution theory, this paper expounds: 1. Biolo
gy's and culture's action on development, analyzed since historic-cult
ural psychology, human ethology, and sociobiology. This work, focusing
historic-cultural psychology, emphasizes the culture and the individua
l's assimilation process of society's historic development. 2. Psychic
activity in primates, analyzing the psychic as brain function, and as
objective world's reflex. Experiments with nonhuman primates suggest
more and more a different class of adaptation in animal with respect t
o man, which is the cause of the lack of chimpanzee's cultural develop
ment.
