The effect of post-cure straining on the fatigue properties of VIRALL
laminates has been investigated experimentally. It ir found that the f
atigue life is prolonged with the increase of prestrain. By analysing
the variations of the inner ply stresses of aluminum sheets and vinylo
n/epoxy layers in VIRALL with increasing prestrain, it is shown that t
he influence of prestrain on fatigue properties is attributed to the c
hanges in the states of the inner ply stress in aluminum sheets and vi
