Abstract
Subthreshold K+ production cross sections have been measured in symmet ric Ne + NaF, Ni + Ni, and Au + Au collisions at 1.0A GeV. The mass de pendence is strong, close to A(2). The angular distributions are nonis otropic in the center-of-mass system. Introducing rescattering seems t o explain this effect to a large extent.
