Abstract
The first examples of platinum(II) complexes of the P(4)C(4)Bu(4)(t) a nd P(5)C(5)Bu(5)(t) ''cages'' are described and detailed nmr and X-ray crystallographic structural studies have been carried out on the comp lexes trans-[PtCl2(PR(3))(P4C4B4t)], trans-[{PtCl2(PR(3))}(2)(P(4)C(4) Bu(4)(t))], (R=Et, Bu), and trans-[PtCl2(PEt(3))(P(5)C(5)Bu(5)(t))].
