Abstract
The structures of 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-6,8-dimethylimidazo[1,2-a] [1,8] naphthyridine, (V), and 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-6-methyl-8-phenylimidazo [ 1,2-a][1,8] naphthyridine, (VI), are reported. Two molecules of (V) ar e present in the asymmetric unit and they exist as dimers connected by C-H ... N hydrogen bonds, In (VI) the imidazonaphthyridine moiety and the methoxyphenyl group lie in one plane with which the 8-phenyl make s an angle of 22.35(5)degrees. Molecules of (VI) also form dimeric pai rs connected by C-H ... N bonds around the inversion centres.
