Abstract
An improved multistage time stepping for second-order upwind TVD schem es to compute the Euler equations is suggested by splitting the residu al into the first-order flux and the antidiffusive terms. The flows pa ssing through the cascade built of two circular are blades and through the NACA0012 airfoil are selected to test this method. Present time s tepping shows excellent results in view of the convergence acceleratio n ability for supersonic, transonic, and subsonic flows compared with the Wiedermann and Iwamoto's time stepping.
