The aim of the present paper is to describe the methods contained in t
he International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) draft Standard ''Ca
lculation of short-circuit currents in de auxiliary installations in p
ower plants and substations,'' and to test them using the computer dyn
amic simulation. The test network is a 220-V dc auxiliary system in a
power station fed by a static converter. The limits of application of
the proposed Standard are also discussed with particular reference to
de traction systems.
