Ma. Rahman et Rf. Qin, STARTING AND SYNCHRONIZATION OF PERMANENT-MAGNET HYSTERESIS MOTORS, IEEE transactions on industry applications, 32(5), 1996, pp. 1183-1189
This paper presents the design, analysis, and application of permanent
magnets in the hysteresis motor with a view to improve the overall pe
rformances of such motor. The novel rotor consists of 36% cobalt steel
alloys with neodymium boron iron permanent magnets. This hybrid desig
n combines advantageous performance features of both the typical perma
nent magnet motors and the conventional hysteresis motors. The machine
models for steady-state and run-up performances are derived. Using st
ate variable equations, starting and synchronizing performances are pr
edicted. A 5-hp laboratory prototype permanent magnet hysteresis mater
was built. Test results validate the superior performances of the new
motor.
