Y. Tachikawa, OPTICAL SIGNAL-PROCESSING IN A LOOP-BACK TYPE ARRAY WAVE-GUIDE GRATING MULTIPLEXER - AMPLIFICATION, MODULATION, AND DEMODULATION, Electronics Letters, 32(19), 1996, pp. 1803-1804
Optical signal processing is accomplished by an arrayed-waveguide grat
ing multiplexer (AWG) provided with an optical semiconductor amplifier
(OSA) in each loop-back optical path. The proposed configuration can
easily realise three useful functions: amplification, modulation and d
emodulation. Dynamic signal processing in the fabricated 1.55 mu m loo
p-back type AWG multiplexer is successfully obtained and confirmed to
operate in accordance with the design.
