Abstract
The authors report the fabrication of 980nm wavelength lasers with red uced divergence angle and circular beams for high efficiency fibre cou pling. Threshold currents of 50mA, singlemode output power of 70mW and <1dB coupling loss to a cleaved singlemode fibre are reported.
