Abstract
The influence of grammage on twin-wire roll forming of TMP was investi gated in the range 37-73 g/m(2). Grammage-normalized values of formati on, tensile stiffness and fracture toughness were evaluated as well as sheer density, optical properties, Z-toughness and retention. The for mation showed some improvement with increasing grammage in the low gra mmage range. There was, however no significant effect of grammage on t he other paper properties over the range investigated. In agreement wi th general experience, retention increased with increasing grammage.
