This study has been planned in order to determinate the frequency of t
he infection by VIH among the 394 new tuberculous, for a period extend
ed from July 1990 to July 1991 at the section of pneumophtisiology in
the National Hospital of Niamey. The number of seropositives is 7.6 %.
The two types of viruses, i.e. VIH1 and VIH2, and the double infectio
n by VIH1 + VIH2 types exist in the tuberculous patients. The VIH1 is
most frequently found in the subjects of age group 20-39 years, who ar
e almost emigrants. Inspite of the actual weak sere-prevalency among t
he tuberculous patients, the authors claim that a sero-epidemiological
sequential survey of tuberculosis in Niamey can be a relatively easy
method for measuring the variations of sere-prevalency of AIDS in Nige
