Abstract
In the gamma- and 3 MeV alpha-radiolysis of C-5-C-10 cycloalkanes the slopes of the straight lines obtained by plotting the cycloalkene yiel ds as a function of the dimer yields were shown to deviate significant ly from the k(d)/k(c) values determined in radical scavenging experime nts. This deviation indicates that both the yield of the radical react ions and the unimolecular cycloalkene formation reaction is dependent on the type of the radiation.
