We present results of the research and development work that has made
it possible to create compact repetitive sources of high-power electro
n beams, X-rays, and microwaves. Laboratory investigations require tha
t specific parameters of the e-beam, X-rays, and microwaves be high. I
t is energetically more advantageous to increase average power by usin
g repetitive devices. The basic unit of such devices represents a RADA
N303B high-voltage driver, which permits one to generate 4 ns accelera
ting voltage pulses energizing vacuum diodes (direct-action accelerati
ng tubes) based on cold explosive-emission cathodes.
