Abstract
One of the requirements associated with large volume patch repairs to concrete structures will be the replacement of load-bearing material a nd bond restoration in order to ensure that full structural action may subsequently be achieved, This paper describes a project involving th e construction and repair of 1:2.5 scale model, reinforced concrete, f rame structures, the study of their behaviour under load, and the comp arison of performance against theoretical predictions, Overall, it was shown that, given suitable repair materials and mode of application, large volumes of concrete may be removed from a reinforced concrete se ction and replaced, and the repaired section will behave in a similar way structurally as if unrepaired, Normal principles for the design of reinforced concrete may be employed.
