Abstract
The decay constants for the strong off-shell B --> B rho and D* --> D rho decays are calculated in the framework of light cone QCD sum rule s. The results are shown to be in agreement with the predictions of th e ''classical'' sum rules method, and with those of the vector dominan ce model.
