Jo. Pliam et Eb. Lee, ON THE GLOBAL PROPERTIES OF INTERCONNECTED SYSTEMS, IEEE transactions on circuits and systems. 1, Fundamental theory andapplications, 42(12), 1995, pp. 1013-1017
Interconnected systems are discussed in terms of their global properti
es. A theory of signal flow graphs over rings is developed. A new suff
icient condition is derived for the complete reducibility of a signal
flow graph, namely if the cycle products are contained in the Jacobson
radical. We show how to construct the smallest ring over which a part
ially known interconnected system must be reducible. Examples illustra
te the application of these results to the study of stability, well-po
sedness, and asymptotic behavior.
