Abstract
The asymptotic behaviours of the momentum distribution, the static str ucture factor and the local field factor at large momenta are evaluate d for the jellium model of an interacting electron fluid confined in a quantum wire. The dependence of the results on the character of the c onfinement and their relevance to models of the dielectric screening f unction are discussed.
