Abstract
Monte-Carlo lattice data for thermodynamical functions and the heavy-q uark potential for an SU(2) gluon plasma are considered in the ''cutof f'' model with a temperature dependent cutoff parameter. Good agreemen t with the data in both cases was found. We compare these results with a model of gluons with a thermal mass and find little difference betw een the two models. The results obtained for the heavy-quark potential are significantly better in both cases than those obtained from pure perturbative calculations.
