An oftenly used mass formula for Nambu-Goldstone (NG) bosons in QCD, s
uch as the pions, involves the condensate ((q) over bar q), f pi and t
he quark current masses. We argue, within the context of the global co
lor model to QCD, that this expression is wrong. Analysis of the inter
play between the Dyson-Schwinger equation for the constituent quark ef
fect and the Bethe-Salpeter equation for the NG boson results in a new
mass formula.
