Abstract
Immobilized Candida antarctica lipase (Novozym 435)-catalysed esterifi cations of methyl alpha-D-glucopyranoside 1, alpha-D-glucose 2 and alp ha,alpha-trehalose 3 with dodecanoic acid in dry media under focused m icrowave irradiation and classical heating conditions are described, u nder the same conditions of time and temperature. The advantages of pe rforming the reactions in the microwave reactor are evident in all cas es either in terms of yields and (or) purities of products.
