Yi. Vygovskaya et al., THE RATES OF NON-HODGKINS-LYMPHOMAS AND D EATHS IN RIVNO REGION (UKRAINE) BEFORE AND AFTER CHERNOBYL CATASTROPHE, Eksperimental'naa onkologia, 17(3), 1995, pp. 220-223
The studies of the indices showing the non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (NHL) m
orbidity and death-rate were carried out in Rivno region between 1981
and 1991, six northern areas of which were contaminated by radionuclid
es as a result of Chernobyl accident. The rise in morbidity and death
rates was revealed both in contaminated and non-contaminated areas. Th
e increase of the NHL morbidity and death rates proved to be significa
nt in elder age groups (aged 50-74). However, no correlation between t
he intensity of the radionuclides contamination and NHL morbidity rate
has been detected.
