It is found that Bogoliubov matrices introduced in thermo field dynami
cs can be generally derived for an arbitrary value of the time-path pa
rameter sigma, 0 less than or equal to sigma less than or equal to bet
a, by the closed-time path approach in a natural and simple way. Based
on the generalized Bogoliubov matrices the meaning of widely believed
sigma-independence of thermal field theory is discussed.
