CYCLOMETALATED COMPOUNDS OF PD(II) WITH S CHIFF-BASES WITH THE DIPHOSPHINES PH(2)PCH(2)PPH(2) (DPPM)Y PH(2)PC(=CH2)PPH(2)(VDPP)

The synthesis and characterization of cyclometallated complexes of Pd( II) with N-(3,4-dimethoxybenzylidene)cyclohexylamine and the diphosphi nes Ph(2)PCH(2)PPh(2) (dppm) and Ph(2)PC(=CH2)PPh(2) (vdpp) )C6H2C-(H) =NCy)}(2)(mu-L-L)(mu-O(2)CMe)](O(2)CMe), d(3,4-(MeO)(2)C6H2C-(H)=NCy)} (2)(mu-L-L)(mu-X)](X) and [Pd(3,4-(MeO)(2)C6H2C(H)=NCy)(L-L-P,P)](Y) [ where L-L = Ph(2)PCH(2)PPh(2) (dppm), Ph(2)PC(=CH2)PPh(2) (vdpp), X = Cl, Br, Y = PF6- ClO4-] are described. All the compounds obtained have been characterized by elemental analysis (C, H, N) and by i.r., H-1 a nd P-31-{H-1} n.m.r. spectroscopy.
