J. Hanssen et al., DIFFERENTIAL CROSS-SECTION OF THE DISSOCIATIVE IONIZATION OF H-2(-ELECTRON IMPACT() BY FAST), Physica scripta. T, 53(1), 1996, pp. 41-45
The differential cross section of the dissociative ionization of H-2() by electron impact is determined theoretically using a model which s
eparates the two scattering centres of the molecule. A coincidence det
ection of the two outcoming electrons and one of the H+ is supposed Th
e effect of the direction of the molecular axis on the seven-fold diff
erential cross section (7DCS) of this reaction is studied for the case
s of large and small values of the impact parameter. The variation of
the 7DCS, in terms of the scattering angle for a fixed direction of th
e internuclear axis, reveals an interesting analogy with light interfe
rence patterns with the two scattering nuclei playing the role of the
two pin holes of the Young's experiment.
