Abstract
We derive a class of solutions of the held equations of five-dimension al general relativity that is static and spherically symmetric in ordi nary three-dimensional space. In the induced-matter picture, where the extra dimension is responsible for matter in four-dimensional spaceti me, the solutions represent centrally condensed clouds with density pr ofiles similar to those of clusters of galaxies. This class of solutio ns could be used with data on gravitational lensing to look for a fift h dimension.
