Abstract
We discuss some of the astrophysical problems in which Alfven waves ca n play an important role. The problems that we focus in are: (i) Alfve n waves in stellar winds; (ii) formation of extragalactic jets by Alfv en waves, and (iii) formation of quasar clouds by a thermal instabilit y and Alfven waves.
