Rp. Bonomo et al., CHARACTERIZATION AND SUPEROXIDE-DISMUTASE ACTIVITY OF COPPER(II) COMPLEXES OF 6A,6X-DIFUNCTIONALIZED BETA-CYCLODEXTRINS, Journal of the Chemical Society. Dalton transactions, (23), 1996, pp. 4351-4355
Thermodynamic and EPR spectroscopic measurements were carried out in a
queous solution on copper(II) complexes of beta-cyclodextrins 6A,6X-di
functionalized (X = B, C or D) with histamine (imidazole-4-ethanamine)
. The O-2(-) scavenger activity of these systems was determined throug
h both enzymatic and photohaemolysis assays. An attempt was made to co
rrelate the scavenger ability with the geometrical features of the cop
per(II) complexes. The determination of the stability constants of the
copper(II) complexes with l-4-yl)ethylamino]-6A,6B-dideoxy-beta-cyclo
dextrin revealed the speciation under the experimental conditions.
