We investigate the characteristics of phase transitions in dense hadro
nic matter using the hypersphere approach in an extended Skyrme model
which implements correctly the scale symmetry of QCD. The transition f
rom a localized density phase to a delocalized uniform density phase i
s found to be of first order at a critical radius of the hypersphere.
Chiral restoration and gluon decondensation also take place at the sam
e critical size of the hypersphere.
