THE STRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES OF PRESSURE- SENSITIVE POLYURETHANE ADHESIVES

Segmented polyurethanes that showed the properties of pressure-sensiti ve adhesives were synthesized. The effect of chemical composition on t he structure and surface properties of the obtained polyurethanes were studied using DSC, XPS, and surface tension measurements. Varying the length of a flexible urethane block, on the one hand, and the chemica l nature of terminal fragments, on the other, show different effect on the structuration, chemical composition of the surface, and surface t ension of the polyurethane and the mechanical properties of the polyme rs and their adhesive joints.
