We report a case of Takayasu arteritis (TA) in the acute stage. The ca
se is unique in two points. First, the diagnosis of Takayasu arteritis
was initially suspected from a subtle finding on plain radiography. S
econd, thickening of the aortic and pulmonary arterial walls was demon
strated by computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging in the a
cute non-pulseless stage of the disease.
