A COMPARATIVE-STUDY ON THE CONFORMATION OF DERIVATIVES OF FURANOSES, 4-THIOFURANOSES AND C-FURANOSIDES, N-FURANOSIDES AND S-FURANOSIDES

The anomeric effect would prevail over the other steric and non-bondin g interactions in determining the ring conformation of O-furanosides, but as it diminishes in progressing from N-, to S-, to C-furanosides, their conformational preferences are influenced by other stabilizing f actors.
