PLS modelling of antiarrhythmic activity of phenylpyridines based on t
he Free-Wilson descriptor matrix is described. The Free-Wilson descrip
tor matrix consists of fifteen columns for four substituents (R(1), R(
2), R(3) and R(4)). The contribution of structural fragments to the an
tiarrhythmic activity is examined by the MLR-like model Eq. converted
from the PLS model. The result corresponds with the previous PLS analy
sis of phenylpyridines and this correspondence implicitly validates th
e PLS analysis with the Free-Wilson descriptor matrix used in this stu
dy.
