Abstract
The synthesis of benzoxazoles and benzimidazoles is accomplished by tr eating N,O-diacylated 2-aminophenols or N,N'-diacylated 1,2-phenylened iamines with p-toluenesulfonic acid under reflux in xylenes or toluene .
