The outcomes of treatment of 61 renal cancer patients with tumour thro
mbus in the renal vein or vena cava inferior, having no distant and re
gional metastases and without tumour invasion of adjacent organs, are
presented. After radical surgery patients were treated by whole-body h
yperthermia supplemented with hyperglycemia and adriamycin. The 5-year
survival in the patients treated by this combined method was signific
antly higher that that in the patients administered only surgical trea
tment, and reached to 94% and 27%, respectively (P < 0.001).
