K. Irlweck et B. Khademi, RADIONUCLIDE RATIOS OF SR-90 CS-137 AND PU-239(240)/CS-137 IN CONTAMINATED SURFACE AIR AFTER THE CHERNOBYL ACCIDENT IN AUSTRIA/, Journal of radioanalytical and nuclear chemistry, 203(1), 1996, pp. 79-85
Ratios of Sr-90/Cs-137 and (239(240))Pu/Cs-137 have been determined in
surface air by radiochemical analyses of air filter samples collected
at different cities in Austria during the period April, 28-May, 9 198
6. The mean values of these ratios remain below 2 . 10(-2) and 1 . 10(
-5), respectively, i.e., several orders of magnitude smaller than thos
e from fallout contamination after the atomic weapon tests in 1963. Al
ready few such ratios enable a quick first assessment of radiological
emergency situations.
