Ar. Bassindale et al., THE ROLE OF SILICON-OXYGEN INTERACTIONS IN DETERMINING THE STEREOCHEMICAL OUTCOME OF THE PETERSON REACTION, Journal of chemical research. Synopses, (1), 1996, pp. 34-35
The electronic effect of substituents on a benzene ring on the stereoc
hemical outcome of the reaction of an alpha-triarylsilyl carbanion wit
h an aldehyde is examined: the results can be interpreted in terms of
the mode of approach of the carbanion towards the prochiral aldehyde,
taking into account a variable oxygen-silicon interaction.
