Abstract
We report measurements for the scattering of electrons by helium atoms through 156 degrees in the presence of a CO2 laser. The incident ener gy of the electrons was in the:range 0.2-2.5 eV and the polarization o f the laser was arranged to be parallel to the direction of the electr on momentum transfer. The data were compared with the results of simpl e calculations assuming the Kroll-Watson approximation.
