1993 RADIOACTIVE-WASTE INVENTORY AND FUTU RE ARISINGS

The German Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS), acting on be half of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Reactor Safety (BMU), annually compiles statistics of radioactive residues and waste with the agencies required to deliver such waste. Within these statistics, the inventories existing in Germany of residu es and untreated waste, cooling waste, and conditioned waste are deter mined. Also the arisings in 1993 of conditioned waste are added to the statistics. On the basis of the results of these statistical surveys, a forecast is presented of the future arisings of conditioned radioac tive waste by the end of 2010, and an evaluation is made of rite situa tion of interim and final storage of radioactive waste.
