The baroclinic circulation in the Black Sea was modeled on the basis o
f general hydrodynamic model. The calculating region represented a bas
in with real coastal contour and bottom relief. Numerical experiment w
as performed taking into account seasonal variability of fields of win
d, temperature and salinity on the sea surface. It was shown that the
general circulation experiences considerable interseasonal variability
. In the winter several cyclonic formations are generated in the weste
rn part of the basin, as in the summer, vast cyclonic gyre is observed
over the whole sea basin. Anticyclonic eddies in southeastern part of
the basin and in the region of the Caucasus coast are elements of lar
ge-scale circulation in the calculations. A quasi-periodic generation
of synoptic eddies with the period, different from an year, takes plac
e near the Crimea and Anatolic(?) shore.
