INTERMETALLIC DERIVATIVES WITH GALLIUM-MANGANESE, GALLIUM-RHENIUM ANDINDIUM-RHENIUM BONDS

Three new intermetallic derivatives of the type [ArM{M' (CO)(5)}(2)], where M = Ga, M' = Mn (4); M = Ga, M' = Re (5); M = In, M' = Re (6), h ave been prepared by the salt elimination reactions of 2-(Me(2)NCH(2)) C(6)H(4)MX(2) with NaM' (CO)(5). Compounds 4 - 6 have been characteriz ed by elemental analysis, NMR, and mass spectroscopy. Compound 4 and 6 were studied by single-crystal x-ray diffraction. Crystal data for 4: monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c, a = 9.635(10)Angstrom, b = 10.144(10 )Angstrom, c = 23.424(2)Angstrom, beta = 99.700(0), V = 2256.8(3)Angst rom(3), Z = 4, R = 0.037. Crystal data for 6: monoclinic, space group P2(1)/n, a = 9.879(2)Angstrom, b = 16.424(4)Angstrom, c = 15.226(3)Ang strom, beta = 101.10(2), V = 2424.2(9)Angstrom(3), Z = 4, R = 0.0475.
